There are a number of people i follow on Twitter as @BostinBloke which is my personal account for random ramblings, which also brings in lots of business.
One of the people i follow, Jo Ind, caught my eye with “I hate PR” post in her blog.
It did make me chuckle enough to go and read the post and message her back.
The point she was making was an interesting one, in that, what is the difference between telling and selling stories?
Is just the fact that people are on Twitter, Facebook or MySpace or have Blogs in itself imply that they are selling by telling? Are we not all salespeople of our products and services?
Does the word selling bring negative connotations of door to door selling, which by the way, i heard one company now calls them Home Engagement Officers!
Wonder what will happen when i tweet Jo this blog post?
Oh so many questions. Time for cup of tea.
Jo will be flattered that she has inspired a post. She will click on the link without further ado. She will delight in Donato’s take on the subject. She will agree it is an interesting topic and that merely having a presence on the internet can be a form of selling. She will have no conclusions but she will enjoy the conversation and she will send two kisses xx
